Corbett is wise to resist Medicaid Expansion in State

There is a lot of pressure on Governor Corbett right now to accept Federal expansion of Medicaid in Pennsylvania. Such a move would not be in the long term best interests of our state.

There are many initiatives at the Federal level right now that are deserving of resistance at the state level on principal if for no other reason. The Medicaid expansion is one such program.

Medicaid is, ostensibly, a “jointly administered” program with governance shared between the states and the federal government.

In practice, however, the federal government becomes the mafia don of Medicaid; the government uses the federal portion of Medicaid funding to strong-arm the states into accepting unpalatable and often locally unpopular federal mandates, such as universal abortion funding and other politically unsavory activities.

The principal comes into play when you look at the big picture.”Big Brother” presents a mandate that is only partially funded, but that obligates the state; then the Feds use the mandate as a pressure point to coerce the state into acquiescing to Federal control.

“Shared governance” is meaningless to the Federal Government; they do not share, and they do not play well with others.

All Pennsylvania citizens should support Governor Corbett’s efforts to resist Federal intrusion into our state. Write to Governor Corbett and your state representative and state senator, and let them know that you are opposed to acceptance of the federal expanded Medicaid offering that is part of Obamacare.

We all need to be willing to make a few “sacrifices” in order to starve the federal monster into submission. Remember – a government that is big enough to give you everything you need (or think you need) is big enough to take everything you have.

The Best Way to Enslave the People

• “Laws that forbid the carrying of arms … disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes … Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” — Thomas Jefferson

• “The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms. “ — Samuel Adams

• “I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people…. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them. …” — George Mason

We defend Freedom… except when we disagree with Your “politically incorrect” opinion…

This article details the plight of an 8th grade student arrested and suspended for wearing an NRA T Shirt to school.

I’ve seen some of the stuff that kids wear to school today, and I am deeply offended by some of it; young girls dressed like two dollar hookers with more skin showing than covered, boys with their underwear exposed and the crotch of their pants down near their knees, ballcaps on backwards, looking like the hoodlums they aspire to be. But if I comment on these practices then I am “infringing on their rights” because, after all “they are entitled” and educational institutions are “places that value freedom of thought and expression.” Yeah, right.

So along comes Jared Marcum wearing an NRA shirt with a picture of a rifle on it, and all of the sudden we’re not so much in favor of freedom of expression any more. Some Left Wing, radical teacher baits the kid and harasses him about his shirt, and when the kid responds the teacher calls the authorities and has the kid arrested. Now he’s suspended from school for “disrupting the educational process.”

What he nearly disrupted was the indoctrination process that is rampant in our educational system today, and that’s what offended the teacher, I’m sure.

In the current environment of the United States, the media, the current regime, and the educational establishment conspire to protect freedom FROM religion, freedom FROM God, freedom FROM responsibility; while at the same time they vigorously attempt to snuff out freedom FROM government intrusion, freedom FROM unlawful restraint, and freedom FROM government mind control.

And it’s “the only reasonable thing to do.”

Yeah, right.

PA Senator Toomey Plans to Sell us Short

This article portrays U.S. Senator Pat Toomey as “the man in the middle”, the man who will make gun legislation possible.

What that really means is that Patrick Toomey is about to sell out over 50% of his own constituency.

Pennsylvania is a big gun rights and second amendment state. Most Pennsylvanians (pretty much all of us who don’t live in Filthydelphia) recognize that the second amendment is not about hunting – it’s about protecting ourselves, our families, and our homes, especially in times when government infrastructure is failing; and its about protecting our future from the very tyranny that Patrick Toomey and his RINO ilk would like to foist on us.

Contact Senator Toomey and tell him you do NOT approve of his attempts to make gun control “palatable.”

Celebrate What you Want to See More Of…

“Celebrate what you want to see more of.” – Tom Peters, author, In Search of  Excellence

In the world of politics, it’s really easy to get bogged down in the negative, the nasty, and the cruel. It’s easy to get frustrated when your freedoms are being eroded, everything you want to do is illegal, and truly stupid (or truly evil) people are in positions of power.

That’s why it’s important to look around and find the bright spots – and celebrate what you want to see more of.

I’d like to see more State elected officials like Senator Scott Hutchinson. I’ve known Scott for a number of years, and while one man may not be able to change the world, I appreciate the fact that Scott does what he was elected to do. He listens to his constituents and represents their positions in the public arena – instead of holding an agenda of his own. He has high morals and ethics, which is so rare in politics today. So I celebrate Scott.

I celebrate small victories, like the move to disassemble Pennsylvania’s Liquor Control Board… an anachronistic waist of tax payer money if ever there was one (do you really think people in Pennsylvania drink less because we have a bureaucracy?  Seriously???)

I celebrate organizations like the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund, and the Homeschool Legal Defense Association, the Tea Party Patriots and the National Rifle Association – organizations that are on the front lines, fighting for my freedoms and defending my rights, raising important subjects in the public arena.

I celebrate the individuals, known and unknown, who understand the concept of personal liberty and personal responsibility, and who know you can’t have one without the other. A government that is big enough to give you everything you need is big enough to take everything you have.

I celebrate the fact that we still have the opportunity to fight for the hearts and minds of men and women – to teach others to value personal liberty, and not to sell their birthright  for a mess of pottage.

I celebrate what I want to see more of.

The only “real” crisis is that he’s our President, apparently…

“We don’t have an immediate crisis in terms of debt. In fact, for the next 10 years, it’s going to be in a sustainable place.”

President Obama in a March 12 interview with ABC News.
